I'm having trouble with gameplay
Part of the fun of tower defense games has always been getting to know the different towers, creeps, and developing strategies as you go.
That said, it's never fun when things aren't working out for you. That's why we made a comprehensive guide to the gameplay which covers the different types of towers, creeps and an introduction to gameplay strategies.
I want to report a bug or another issue.
Although we'd like to imagine that touchDefense is perfect, we realize that may be a slightly ambitious claim. If you run into any situation that appears to be a bug, please send us an email.
We can be the most helpful if your email answers these questions:
- How did you encounter the bug?
- Does the bug occur every time you are in a similar situation, or just some of the time?
- What hardware are you using?
We greatly appreciate your bug reports, and will do our best to get fixes implemented as quickly as possible.
Did you hire an elite team of chimpanzees to balance the gameplay?
Aaah. Well, now that you mention it, humans are very closely related to chimpanzees, and perhaps us unwitting programmers are closer than most. But the short answer is, no. As much as we'd like to deflect any blame onto our hairier brethern, it's all our fault.
There are a number of issues that go into balancing gameplay:
- Easy enough to scale the learning curve.
- Hard enough to maintain replay value.
- Diverse enough to allow varied strategies.
- Doesn't defy universal laws of physics.
In the midst of brushing up on string theory we decided that we were just going to have to make some decisions about gameplay, and that they might not be perfect.
If you'd like to make suggestions on how we can improve upon gameplay, feel free to send us an email.
